About

My purpose as a filmmaker and audio producer is to expose the interconnected nature of our planet’s overlapping environmental crises through human stories of resilience. I strive to strike a careful balance in my storytelling, teetering between the dark void of despair, and the bright hope for a new future. My films interact with both of these extremes, hope and despair, without fully giving in to either one.

Hope and despair are conveyed in my storytelling via unique and compelling characters. My films are all character-driven, encouraging viewers to feel the emotions of other people as they undergo life-altering experiences. I strongly believe that establishing this emotional bond between character and viewer is the key to an effective and compelling film – far more important than any expository idea or information that could be conveyed.

The films and podcasts that I produce are a form of entertainment, but they are also tools to be used by educators, activists and outreach specialists. Every film that I produce is accompanied by an impact campaign – an outreach campaign specifically designed to have a measurable, positive impact on the outcome of the issue that is portrayed in the film.
